Ultrasonic joining utilises "hammering" ultrasonic energy that is induced into the join zone of the thermoplastics to be joined. The acoustical absorption plastifies the material there in a confined area. Once the weld seam has cooled, the parts are permanently joined.
Welding means creating a molten mass on the surface of two thermoplastic parts. After the ultrasonic vibrations have ended, the melted material hardens. The strength of the resulting joint weld is similar to the starting material: with a clean joint design.
Forming is like flanging or riveting a procedure for joining two different materials. Short welding times, tight joints, and excellent appearance of the welding seam are all possible with this method.
By embedding a metal part – for example a thread nut – in the precast fixture bore hole high torsional and break-out strengths can be achieved.
Spot welding is a method for joining two thermoplastic components at particular points regardless of shape and size. Spot welding creates a strong weld and is especially suited for large pieces or parts with hard-to-access contact surfaces.
